Section 75
Member's Oath

(1) Before participating in the meeting of the House of Representatives or any of its committees, a member shall take an oath before the person presiding over the House of Representatives in the format as per Schedule-3. However, the member according to sub-section (5) of Article 91 of the Constitution must take an oath before the President.
(2) If a member wishes to take the oath in his mother tongue, such member shall translate the oath as per sub-section (1) into his mother tongue and provide a copy of the translation to the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament three days before participating in the first meeting of the House of Representatives or any of its committees.
(3) After taking the oath according to this clause, the member shall sign the copy of the oath taken and submit it to the person presiding over the House of Representatives.
(4) If a member has taken an oath in his mother tongue, he shall sign and submit copies of the oath in Nepali language and other Nepali mother tongue to the person presiding over the House of Representatives.
(5) The Federal Parliament Secretariat shall keep the record of the oath taken by the member in accordance with this section.
